NX Launching March 2017, With New Zelda Game

Out of nowhere, Nintendo has made an official announcement that it will be launching its new console, the NX, in March of 2017. Not sure where this exactly came from, but I found out on the official Nintendo of America Twitter account.

Five Titles Nintendo’s NX Needs At Launch

For the past couple of console debuts, the launch line-ups have been mediocre at best. The 3DS, Wii U, PS4 Xbox One, and Vita have all had very poor list of games at launch. Perhaps the Playstation 4 and Xbox One don’t need strong games at launch, but Nintendo’s next console does. After the failure of the Wii U, which was at least partially related to the poor number of titles available at the time, Nintendo’s NX needs some very strong titles to sell people on the console, regardless of the mechanics within the console.

Cloud Coming to Super Smash Bros.

After years of this character being the butt of every ‘who to add to Smash’ joke, one of the most requested characters of all time is finally added to Super Smash Bros. In the latest Nintendo Direct, we got to see the trailer for Final Fantasy VII’s Cloud as a new playable character in Smash Bros.

Nintendo Exec talks Zelda and Metroid Prime Wii U

Coming up to a less than stellar holiday season for the performing less than stellar Wii U, Nintendo is still working on some hot products; Zelda and Metroid. Zelda Wii U was advertised back at E3 2014, supposedly coming out in 2015. Since then, the title has been moved to TBA 2016. Metroid, on the other hand, has been given no significant news in regards to the Wii U. Now, we have some statements from Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of sales and marketing, Scott Moffitt.
